Marketing & Events Manager

 The role covers all aspects of marketing within the businesses and event planning for two local Garden Centres (Summerseat and Bradley Fold Garden Centres).

Working closely with retail management, the role’s main aim is to promote and differentiate the businesses from high street and e-commerce competition through engaging events and strong communication of our product experience.

The position reports into the Garden Centre’s Manager – and will be responsible for a social media and website assistant. This is a permanent, full-time role, however we would consider a strong part-time candidate. Salary will be based on experience.

 Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage two garden centre brands and the customer journey both online and in the garden centre(s).
  • Responsible for planning seasonal marketing campaigns including management of all marketing communications both online and in-print.
  • Management of all events at both garden centres including, scheduling, design, delivery and administration ensuring that all events are delivered to a high standard and supported by departmental teams.
  • Manage the customer loyalty programme using the CRM & EPOS system so that our offers are attractive and also timely to our customers.
  • Highlight key customer segments for marketing communications & event tickets.
  • Manage all activities within the marketing budget.
  • Manage relationships with marketing agencies & suppliers.
  • Create and manage the social media and digital content plan including the Social Media & Events Assistant

Who we are looking for

  • Previous marketing experience with good communication and organisation skills.
  • Able to work flexibly and travel between garden centres.
  • Self-motivated to work on stand-alone projects as well as work with the wider garden centre teams.
  • Good practical knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is essential, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Able to use digital marketing platforms such as Website Management, Email Marketing, Social Media Platforms and CRM Experience – training will be provided but experience is advantageous.

Waiting Staff

We are looking for a member of staff to join our café team.

Duties include:

  • Taking customer orders and serving meals with a polite, friendly and helpful attitude
  • Preparing drinks (including hot drinks) and cake orders
  • Clearing and cleaning duties
  • Working as part of a team to ensure the service is delivered to a high standard
  • Supporting at ad-hoc events as and when required

Requirements

  • Great customer service & communication skills
  • Able to work in a fast paced hospitality environment
  • Barista experience would be advantageous but not essential

Weekend Plant Area Sales Assistant

Brief description of duties:

  • What makes you our perfect Plant Area Assistant?
  • Friendly, with an engaging personality and a genuine love for customer service.
  • The hours for this position are 8hrs per week
  • flexibility is a must.
  •  You will mostly be working outside – moving and displaying plants, plant care & maintenance and of course delivering great customer service.

Duties include:

  • Undertaking daily watering, maintenance and stocking up of the plant areas
  • helping customers with carry to the car service
  • When needed you will assist in other areas of the business, especially other plant area departments
  • Assisting customers with carrying purchases to their cars
  • Collecting trolleys and shopping baskets
